An engineer needed a silicone rubber heater and temperature control solution for environmental control of an electrical enclosure. There was limited physical space for a temperature control device.

Durex' solution was to design and manufacture a silicone rubber enclosure heater with an integrated thermostat located in the lead wires where there was more room.

The silicone heater assembly met the customer's thermal requirements and there was a cost saving by integrating a thermostat in the assembly.
