This heater technology was designed for thermal applications requiring insulation to reduce costly heat loss that sub-optimizes the heater's performance. The insulation is also used to provide touch safe protection in the work environment.Durex Industries developed processes for manufacturing silicone foam insulation and married the foam insulation with silicone rubber heaters. The foam insulation and heater are molded into a homogeneous assembly that may include temperature sensors, thermo-stat, thermo-fuses and other components. By molding the assembly, Durex Industries can mold the heater assembly to fit the contours of components and provide the maximum thermal transfer and temperature uniformity.
