CNC Programmer

Position Summary
Provide programming and manufacturing leadership to production cells through programing expertise, tooling usage specification, and integration of new technology. Lead CNC programming efficiency improvements through technology specification, best practice manufacturing methodologies, and personnel training.
Principal Activities
- Ensures safety work practices and enforces safety policies.
- Ensure parts are programmed and manufactured in accordance with customer specifications.
- Adhere to Quality System.
- Provides guidance on programming, tools, and tool lists to optimize production efficiencies, as well as performs programming functions for new or complex design requirements.
- Overall improvement organization of programs storing and recording in Predator.
- Set Up: Overseeing set up personnel, assisting existing parts set ups. First piece inspection report, adjustments, improvements. Proper S/U Training (start with set up leads). Identify current set up problems and recommend solutions.
- Develops, recommends, and implements improvements to the CNC programming process including machining methods, tooling, and process control strategies.
- Participates in PQA process for new designs and provides guidance on methods, tooling, and process controls.
- Oversees launch of new designs into the CNC production cells, ensuring that all relevant personnel understand machining requirements and proper tooling is engaged.
- Recommends new equipment and equipment enhancements and ensures that these capital investments are deployed properly with sufficient training to accomplish goals.

Key Accountabilities
- In this role, one will be expected to develop, recommend and implement improvements to the CNC programming process as well as oversee set up personnel, assist with set ups, train, first piece inspection, adjustments and improvements.
Candidate Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- This is a programming role. Will be 50-50% split programing and set up.
- CNC Programming for 3 to 5 Axis Milling Mastercam 2017 or above.
- Lathe programing a plus.
- Knowledge of Okuma machines a plus.
- Knowledge of turn-mill Lathes a plus.
- Program complex parts from a blueprint and model.
- Create tool sheets and set up instructions with each CNC Program.
- Read prints and maintain close tolerance dimensional quality.
- Work successfully with the process engineers and machine operators to ensure quality parts.
- Mastercam Programming experience 3-5 years.
- Familiar with speeds and feeds.
- Strong understanding of GD&T.
- Knowledge of G-Code and M-Code.
- Ability to work successfully with a team.

The work environment includes working in an office and production environment; may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, heat and moderate noise from machinery while on the production floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but occasional visits to areas with high noise levels or other physical hazards will require the use of personal protective equipment. Safety glasses with side shields and steel-toe shoes are required on the production floor.
Work requires meeting performance deadlines and being exact or highly accurate; requires face-to-face interaction with individuals or teams, negotiating, reasoning and influencing others in a group or team using a participative management style with well-developed interpersonal skills.
This position is also an ‘onsite’ position and will require the employee to physically be located in our 190 office building.
