Production Supervisor

Position Summary
The Production Supervisor (PS) is responsible for assuring accurate and timely component moves through the plant. To be successful in this role this person must take the lead in supporting the manufacturing floor in production flow to and from departments and have strong communication skills along with a strong adherence to process sustainment.
Principal Activities
- Coordinate production components through the shop floor and the various functional departments providing status to the production teams.
- Attend department meetings, manage actions and conduct follow-up as required with owners
- Work cross functionally with internal customers in engineering, quality, production departments, planning/scheduling, shipping receiving and other departments as necessary.
- As the operational focal person assists the operations supervisors and team leads in prioritizing and reconciling component quantities and assemblies through the floor.
- Responsible for the shipping and receiving functions for the operation and the associated bar code and labeling equipment.
- Coordinate with supervisors to help expedite assemblies through manufacturing to shipping.
- Shop floor Business Process Owner (BPO) bar code and labeling technical support.
- Assure material movement from key areas on the shop floor,
- Kits to/from stock room to production line side
- Kits and components aligned at shop transfer zone.
- Adherence to transaction quantities throughout the manufacturing process in the MES (SFM).
- Components flow to/from CNC, CMM and Assembly.
- Packing materials plan and assurance right materials available for the floor
- Storage plan for finished goods.
- MO lot integrity.
- MRB movement and tracking
- Support and participate in the cycle count program.
- Support and participate in the annual company physical inventory.
Key Accountabilities
- Assure that materials move seamlessly between manufacturing departments.
- Create daily work progress reports, transaction reports, Cycle Count reports and open MO reports.
- Maintain controlled WIP.
- Reconcile Shop Floor Manager (SFM) and ERP transaction, quantities and locations.
- Identify floor stock items and create replenishment process milk runs,
- Be the shop floor liaison to support purchasing with material reviews and replenishment quantities.
- Find areas for material improvement using methods such as safety stock and Kanban.
- Making sure production staff has visibility to all components associated with the MO in process by assuring the production schedule is updated.
- Performs various projects and analysis as required on an ad hoc basis.
Candidate Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- HS or GED required, or equivalent on the job experience. AS Degree in operations a plus.
- Previous manufacturing experience in a discrete process environment.
- Strong adherence to process and data analysis skills required.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment, including sustaining of new implemented processes.
- Must be self-motivated, driven, flexible, adaptable and have a desire to implement change/improvements; results driven.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional and respectful manner verbally, electronically and written.
- Highly organized and detail oriented skill set.
- Computer skills and knowledge of software programs – MS Great Plains ERP, MES systems for labor & material transactions, MS Office, MS Dynamics 365 a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship, both now and in the future.

The work environment includes working in an office and production environment; may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, heat and moderate noise from machinery while on the production floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but occasional visits to areas with high noise levels or other physical hazards will require the use of personal protective equipment. Safety glasses with side shields and steel-toe shoes are required on the production floor.
Work requires meeting performance deadlines and being exact or highly accurate; requires face-to-face interaction with individuals or teams, negotiating, reasoning and influencing others in a group or team using a participative management style with well-developed interpersonal skills.
This position is also an ‘onsite’ position and will require the employee to physically be located in our 190 office building.
